Daily Q&A

To add muscle what is the best meal or drink to have after a hard workout?

Glad you asked because most of the stuff gym's carry are not worthy. Following a hard work out you want to consume a drink of predominately carbohydrates made up of a mixture of sugars. Additionally the formula should have 10-20gms of protein and very little fat. Carbohydrates (CHO) kick off the most powerful muscle-building hormone in the body Insulin. And therefore ingesting CHO in a simple form immediately after a workout you turn on all the muscle building machinery (testosterone, growth hormone, etc.) by first turning on insulin insulin is the body primary signal to start the building process.
