To add muscle what is the best meal or drink to have after a hard workout?

Glad you asked because most of the stuff gym's carry are not worthy.
Following a hard work out you want to consume a drink of predominately carbohydrates made up of a mixture of sugars. Additionally the formula should have 10-20gms of protein and very little fat. Carbohydrates (CHO) kick off the most powerful muscle-building hormone in the body -Insulin. And therefore ingesting CHO in a simple form immediately after a workout you turn on all the muscle building machinery (testosterone, growth hormone, etc.) by first turning on insulin - insulin is the body primary signal to start the building process.

3. I was told in a personal training seminar that the best thing to drink is actually chocolate milk - that it is the perfect mix of carbs, sugars and protein. Our presenter (who teaches both grad/undergrad kinesiology/sports med/nutrition) also said that if you drink this within 30 minutes of your workout, dont even worry about the calorie count of the choc milk, because your muscles are so permiable during this 30 minutes, that none of what you injest will circulate in your blood as lipids (which turn to fat). He also said that this is the quickest way to restore glycogen in your muscles after a hard workout. BUT - it MUST be within 30 minutes, or the effects will be diminished.

Should be "gyms"; no apostrophe.
5. Which Apex products are best? Also, how many grams of CHO? Please provide examples of food combinations.
