I had a c/section and I have scar tissue built up under the scar. I also have abdominal fat that I want to see disappear. What can I do? Will the scar tissue also disappear through exercise?

As you lose weight you will see a reduction in fat throughout your body-more so in some places than others.  However, you cannot decrease the amount of fat stored in one particular location over another.  Distribution of fat is determined by genetics and can't be changed.  You could opt for liposuction, but keep in mind that since you are genetically programmed to store fat in certain areas, you may regain fat fairly quickly in that area.  Fat loss does not reduce scar tissue.

1. I have this same problem. I had the C-section 16 years ago & the scar tissue has built up over the years. Now that I have lost weight you can even see the bulge. I have seen a surgeon about having it removed, as it tends to be painful. Recovery time is approx 2 weeks & a plastic surgeon can remove it & perform a tummy tuck or lipo in the same operation.
2. The dirty little secret about the c-section, is that little fat flap will probably never go away. I have been seeing a massage therapist to work specifically on that are to break up the scar tissue (I think it is called maya and you can do it yourself too but it is uncomfortable). For the first time in 10 years, I am finally having mobility and less pain from adhesions in my left side and psoas is finally getting stronger and in less of a spasm state. This is a real problem and common for women who have had surgeries such as c-section. Hope that helps.
