I am 32 years old and have been an athlete my whole life, including earning a collegiate volleyball scholarship to a Division I school. I am 5'8 and was roughly 155 lbs and 17% body fat at the peak of my volleyball career. After having my two daughters within 20 months, I found it extremely difficult to get myself back on track and into the body I had always known. I was 30 years old and had very little energy or motivation. I felt lethargic and run down, despite the excitement of being a new mommy again. My focus was to find a quick fix that would help me drop the accumulated baby weight and get back my fit body, but I had no momentum or enthusiasm. I tried ‘point' plan centers, store bought ‘slimming' shakes and bars, over the counter weight loss products, herbal teas, etc - all to no avail. It wasn't until I was given the opportunity to wear a bodybugg™ and incorporate Apex products and supplements into my life that I finally made headway in my journey to reclaiming my athletic physique. After answering the bodybugg™ personalizing questions, I realized that I was not as ‘active' as I thought. On the contrary, my life was mostly sedentary. I sit at my desk 8 hours a day, sit in the car running errands and children all over town, sit at sporting events, sit to eat, then to relax and watch TV, etc. With my schedule as a stock broker, residing on the West Coast, I practically live two lives due to working on the Eastern Time zone. Fortunately, my career allows me to be a full time mommy after 2pm every day, although that means I am on the go from before the sun rises to many hours after the sun sets. Even though I am busy all day and night, I learned through the bodybugg™ that I was not physically exerting myself (too much sitting) and therefore, was NOT burning calories like I assumed. But where in my day can I possibly integrate a couple hours in the gym? I don't. At best, I may have a day or two each week where I can squeeze some time to myself or a walk with my husband and babies. That is the exception--not the rule--at this point in my life. The bodybugg™ has given me the opportunity to face the facts regarding how many calories I am burning every minute of every day, including while I sleep! Knowledge truly IS power and there are NO EXCUSES for not being in total control of your weight regardless of your circumstances. You can run (not input all your food consumption honestly/accurately), but you can't hide (the bodybugg™ and scale will prove otherwise!). I found that my weight loss success is not conducive to working out daily and eating ‘rabbit' food. My success lies in one simple fact; Calories in versus calories out, making sure to burn more than I eat. With that, I have been able to balance my caloric intake and thus far, lose 40+ lbs and 17% body fat, surpassing my original goals and putting me back to my ideal weight and fat percentage. Words can not accurately express the elation, confidence and pride that I have in myself and the self-assurance the bodybugg™ and apex fitness has given me.
